Fraud Alert: Payment Request Scam Prevention

The City of Sutter Creek is issuing this Fraud Alert to help protect residents, businesses, and vendors from payment-related scams and fraudulent requests.

Official payment requests from the City of Sutter Creek will only come from cityofsuttercreek.org.

The City of Sutter Creek accepts payments through the following methods:

• In person at the City Hall front desk.
• By check.
• By ACH payment arrangements made only after speaking directly with Finance Supervisor Mason Peters.

The City of Sutter Creek will NEVER request payment through the following methods:

• Wire transfers
• Zelle
• Gift cards
• Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency
